Use of Silicon Vaginal Pessary for Treatment of Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Background: Use of vaginal pessary as a conservative therapy for pelvic organ prolapse is very common and upto 77% clinicians uses ring 1 line management prolapse. Aim to treat by approach alleviate the symptoms avert or delay need surgery. this study was find out improvements related satisfaction rate after 3 months using pessary. 
 Materials methods: A prospective observational conducted from January 2019 –to June in Department Gynaecology Obstetrics Bangabandu Memorial Hospital, Chattogram. Total 31 patients were included with symptomatic Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) willing use Primary outcome improvement their baseline months. Results: Age respondents between 25-80 years mean 50 ( +-12) years, maximum postmenopausal 54.8% .Out 27(87.1%) continue after, 2(6.5%) cases spontaneous expulsion took place, discontinue use. Compare base findings significant observed at Nearly all resolved months: buldge (92.3% 7.7% , p < 0.001), dragging pain lower abdomen (100% 14.8% p<0.001). Urinary voiding difficulty improved 88% p<0.001), urinary urgency 81.8% (p<0.001), urge stress incontinence 100% (p<0.001). Incomplete empting bowel 100%(p<0.001). During follow up 4(12.9%) women complain discharge. At 3months 88.9% satisfied 3(11.1%) dissatisfied. Conclusion: This showed that treatment had high rate. JCMCTA 2022 ; 33 (1) : 118-123
